A political activist, Fahmo wants us to make our city better for the next generation. While living in Maine, she was involved with the fight to raise the minimum wage, which included tipped workers. “When leaders try to hold back progress, it gets frustrating, but it makes me want to work harder for change. That’s why when I returned to Minneapolis I quickly delved back into politics and heard about Jillia. I believe she is the leader we need now. I know she’s committed to increasing the minimum wage to $15/hour for all workers which will benefit women and people of color. I want my representative to be a voice for me, and others in the community, to drive issues forward. Jillia will be a champion for all of the residents of Ward One and will find creative ways to get things done.
