Last night, we talked with more than 80 residents from Ward One about their love for our city and their concerns for our future.
Over and over again, we heard neighbors say they want more action from their Minneapolis City Council member.
- They want to see action on increasing the minimum wage to a living wage of $15/hour and they want workers to be protected with fair scheduling.
- They want new people to feel welcome in the Ward and they also want to keep housing costs affordable so no one is pushed out.
- They want a leader who will listen to their concerns, show up for all residents of Ward 1 and work with community members to proactively move forward our progressive values.
We’ve set a challenge goal to raise $2,017 by December 31 so we can ring in the New Year with the base of support we need to bring our voices to the table.
Big businesses and insiders already have a place. But we can change that if we come together. We can build our power and create positive change for economic, racial, and gender solidarity. Together, we will make our vision for the future of our ward and our city a reality.
Mark your calendar now and join your friends and neighbors for my campaign kickoff event from 5:30 - 7:30pm Thursday, January 5! Ward 1 resident and artist Guante will perform to kick off our campaign in the new year. Look for more details soon!
Wishing you Peace in the New Year,
P.S. Make your voice heard by making a donation of $20.17.
